Welcome to Higher Education Area Transit, Greensboro's first college and university based public transportation system. HEAT offers service on seven local routes serving local institutions of higher learning as well as other select locations. HEAT and GTA services are available to anyone, and students of partner schools can ride fare-free!
After a successful launch year of carrying over 130,000 passengers, we have begun year two operations serving students and the public. New this year, Route 75 A&T HEAT which will serve off campus housing in the vicinity of North Carolina A&T State University as well as the commercial shopping area of Bessemer and Summit Avenues. In addition, Route 73 UNCG HEAT has been extended to accomodate increased student housing in the Spring Garden Street and Walker Avenue areas. Additional routes and stops have also been tweaked based on your suggestions.
