Route Information

Welcome Aboard HEAT!

Originally made possible by federal and state grants and the financial support of local university and college partners, HEAT (Higher Education Area Transit) is providing enhanced and expanded transportation services to the entire Greensboro community. The specific schools located along the HEAT routes include: Bennett College; Elon University School of Law; North Carolina A&T State University; and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG)



HEAT operates routes as follows:

East-West HEAT
EAST-WEST HEAT (Weekdays) –

An east- and west-bound route that serves downtown, Bennett College, Elon University School of Law, North Carolina A&T and UNCG This schedule is for Mondays - Fridays only.

East-West HEAT
Route 71 Saturday and Sunday –

An east- and west-bound route that serves downtown, Bennett College, Elon University School of Law and North Carolina A&T. This schedule is for Saturdays and Sundays only.

City HEAT
City HEAT –

A downtown circulation route with service to Bennett College, Elon University School of Law, NC A&T, UNCG, Friendly Center and the nightlife, entertainment and restaurants of downtown Greensboro.

UNCG HEAT
UNCG HEAT –

A shuttle service route between the UNCG campus and student housing complexes located west of campus in the general vicinity of Spring Garden Street and Walker Avenue.

A&T HEAT
A&T HEAT –

A shuttle service route between the A&T campus, student housing complexes located in the McConnell Road, Benbow Road and Sullivan Street areas, and the Bessemer Avenue shopping district.

HEAT and GTA bus services do not operate on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. HEAT schedules are also affected by college and university calendars. Please check individual route schedules for complete information.
